Glastonbury Transfer Station to Accept Only Cash, Checks Saturday Due to Fiber Outage
A planned fiber outage on Saturday, February 7, will affect payment processing at the town's refuse facilities.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Glastonbury residents planning to visit the town's Transfer Station and Bulky Waste facility this Saturday, Feb. 7, should be aware of a temporary change in payment options. Due to a planned fiber outage, the facility will only be able to accept cash and check payments for services.
The Department of Sanitation announced the payment restriction on Feb. 4, stating that credit card sales will not be processable during the outage period. The fiber outage is scheduled to last from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
The temporary change is necessary because the facility's credit card processing systems rely on the fiber network, which will be down for maintenance. Town officials are asking for residents' understanding and flexibility regarding this inconvenience.
