A woman from Glastonbury is facing several years in prison as part of a federal gun trafficking case.
GLASTONBURY, CT — A woman from north central Connecticut has entered a plea in a federal gun trafficking case.
Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut, and James Ferguson, special agent in charge at the ATF Boston Field Division, said that Brandi Wiggins, 35, of Glastonbury, waived her right to be indicted and entered a guilty plea Thursday before U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer in New Haven to "engaging in the business of dealing in firearms without a license."
According to court documents and statements made in court, Wiggins came to the attention of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives after several guns that she purchased in North Carolina were recovered in Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts.

Judge Meyer scheduled sentencing for Dec. 12, at which time Wiggins faces a maximum five-year prison term. Avery said.
