Glastonbury Woman Sentenced In Domestic Hatchet Attack Case

GLASTONBURY, CT — A judge has ordered a Glastonbury woman to prison in a case involving a hatchet attack.

Hartford State's Attorney Sharmese L. Walcott said Thursday that Judge David P. Gold sentenced Lori Ann Lee, 59, of Glastonbury, to 15 years in prison, suspended after seven-and-a-half years served, in the case.

Her sentence will be followed by five years of probation, Walcott said.

Judge Gold also ordered a 20-year standing criminal protective order in the case, prohibiting Lee from having contact with the "victim," she said.

Lee entered a guilty plea to first-degree assault on March 21 in Hartford Superior Court.

According to court records, on Nov. 3, 2021, Glastonbury Police were dispatched to a local home for a domestic incident. When they arrived, they encountered a resident who had been struck by a hatchet and was "bleeding significantly," case records show.

When officers approached Lee, she said she had done "the wrong thing," according to case records.

According to case records, Lee said she and her wife had an argument. Lee stated that she became "so mad," that went into the garage, returned to the house with a hatchet and struck her wife in the head, neck, and back area with the "bad end" of the hatchet, according to case records. The impact caused "significant injuries," and her wife was taken to an area hospital," according to case records. Her wife "survived her injuries," case records show.
