Mail-In Application Process Now Available For Glastonbury Refuse Disposal Permits

This new process was developed to offer an additional, contact-less purchase option during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Effective Wednesday, July 1, Glastonbury residents may apply for a Refuse Disposal Permit by U.S. Mail, or by placing a completed application in the Tax Drop Box located on the exterior wall of the Town Hall building. While permits will still be available for purchase in-person at the Transfer Station and Bulky Waste Facility only, this new mail-in process was developed to offer an additional, contact-less purchase option during the COVID-19 pandemic.

To request your Refuse Disposal Permit by mail or Drop Box, please click here and complete the application. Please complete 1 application for each permit that you are applying for. If handwriting your application, please be sure to print clearly and answer every field on the form to ensure Town staff can reach you if they have questions regarding your application.

Residents may mail the completed form(s), check payment, required documentation (e.g. vehicle registration), and a self-addressed and stamped envelope, to the Attention of the Customer Service Center at Glastonbury Town Hall (2155 Main Street). For resident convenience, complete applications may also be dropped in the Tax Drop Box located on the exterior wall of Town Hall. Please CLEARLY print “Refuse Permit Application” on the outside of the envelope if using the Tax Drop Box. The Drop Box will be checked daily to retrieve applications. (Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.)

Upon receipt of your complete application package, Town staff will process the request and mail the permit sticker(s) to you within 5-7 business days using the self-addressed, stamped envelope provided with the application. Incomplete applications will NOT be processed therefore please review your application carefully before submitting for expedited service.
