New Glastonbury Company to Help Small Businesses Succeed

FounderShare is helping small businesses succeed. The company's created mobile gift cards to give customers rewards.

The number of small businesses opening is on the rise, and a new Glastonbury business is doing more than setting up shop. FounderShare is working to help small businesses succeed. FounderShare, one of Connecticut’s newest companies, is in the process of creating a community in support of small business..

“We have created a way to connect local businesses to their customers and makes it easy for current customers to spread the word about local businesses through the use of mobile gift cards,” says Tammy Ferris, Co-Founder of FounderShare. “We love small. We are small, but we don’t think small,” says Ferris.

Here’s how it works: small businesses become members of FounderShare and offer mobile gift cards for sale. Consumers can purchase the gift cards in any amount of their choice and receive rewards in the form of a small discount. The reward encourages loyal customers to talk about the business and helps them attract new loyal customers. Anyone buying FounderShare mobile gift cards can also gift them to anyone they like. Customers then redeem their FounderShares through their smartphone at the business.

Having added 8 million jobs since 1990, small business is vital to the US economy. Running a small business is also incredibly difficult and success is often determined by loyal customers and the number of those loyal customers. Ferris believes that FounderShare can really make a difference in the success of ‘Main Street’ businesses everywhere.

FounderShare is building this community of local businesses so they can work together and benefit each other. The starting point has been built around something that consumers think is cool and convenient.

Ferris says the response from local businesses has been overwhelming. FounderShare is only in its infancy and has already obtained members. Some of the businesses include The Eyeglass Place, Chris Cote’s Golf Shop, Nana’s Infant and Children’s Boutique and The Sow’s Ear. FounderShare is currently in talks with multiple companies in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Their goal is to bring this reward system to small businesses one community at a time.
