Orphaned Squirrel Joins Glastonbury PD As 'Officer Nibbles'
An orphaned squirrel was rescued by Glastonbury police over the weekend.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A squirrel in peril rescued by Glastonbury police over the weekend has a new title — Officer Nibbles.
Patrol officers found the squirrel on Sunday evening sitting in the road on Milestone Drive.
The squirrel appeared to be orphaned, but was not injured, police said.

Here's Officer Nibbles:
"Our officers took him under their wings and created a comfortable squirrel condo for him to spend the night in until we figure out the next course of action," police said in a statement released on Sunday. "We're not sure what his mother called him but we named him Officer Nibbles."

The squirrel was eventually transported to a regional wildlife rehab facility, police said.
