Paul A. Lankarge, 67; Retired Business Executive; Glastonbury Resident Who Enjoyed Golf, Boating

Paul Arthur Lankarge, 67, of Glastonbury, CT passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 7, 2015 while vacationing in Florida.
Born in Hartford, the son of Paul and Vera Lankarge, he was raised in Glastonbury and lived his entire married life there.

He graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University where he played soccer, basketball, and baseball. He began his career as a buyer for G. Fox & Co. He then became a salesman for Duofold. From there, he went on to become a principal of the manufacturer’s rep agency, SML Group, retiring in 2011.
He served in the Connecticut National Guard and on the Alumni Board of ECSU. He was a member of the Greater Hartford Jaycees and served as the 1981 Chairman of the Greater Hartford Open, one of his proudest accomplishments. He loved playing golf and was a member of Glastonbury Hills Country Club for 20 years. Paul enjoyed his summers in Portsmouth, RI where he cruised Narragansett Bay with friends and family in his boat, “Socked In.” He also loved watching the Yankees, the Giants, and the PGA Tour. He was a gentle giant of a man, standing 6’7”, and his many friends will remember him as “Big Guy” or “Large.”

He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Elizabeth Lankarge; a son, Pete Lankarge and his wife Amy of Boston; his very special daughter, Meredith Lankarge of Glastonbury; a brother, Philip Lankarge of Glastonbury; a sister-in-law, Arleen Stannard and her husband James of Higganum; two nieces, and a nephew.
Calling hours will be held at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Avenue in Glastonbury on Friday, March 13th from 4-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 14th at St. Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Road in Glastonbury.
