Paving Work On Tap For Glastonbury Transfer Station
Paving work is prompting temporary changes to drop-off locations and traffic patterns at the Glastonbury Transfer Station.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Paving work is scheduled to begin at the Glastonbury Transfer Station the week of Oct. 30.
During the work, several modifications will be in effect for traffic patterns and material drop-off locations to ensure the facility can remain open while work is completed, officials said.

- The main attendant booth will be CLOSED. Incoming traffic will be directed straight up the hill to the Upper Permit Booth. Residents should drive slowly, as this will be 2-way traffic.
- Recycling, Household Trash, Electronics, Batteries, and Food Scraps will remain in the standard location.
- Mattresses and propane will be accepted at the Upper Permit Booth.
- Scrap Metal, Brush, Demolition, and Non-Processibles will be directed up the hill to a well-marked, temporary dumping area.
- Oil and anti-freeze may be left with the Upper Permit Booth Attendant in disposable containers only.
- The Put and Take area will be CLOSED for the duration of the paving project.
Project work is expected to last 3 to 4 days, and will be subject to change based on weather and other factors.
