GLASTONBURY, CT — A 21-year-old from Norwich is facing a felony charge in a fake prescription scheme in Glastonbury, police said.

According to an arrest report, Glastonbury police on Monday responded to a complaint from the Walgreens on Main Street about a man attempting to pick up a "fraudulent prescription."

Police arrested the man for third-degree telephone fraud, a felony in Connecticut.

He is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court Nov. 27.

According to state statutes, third-degree telephone fraud involves a person, under false pretenses, trying to obtain money or property exceeding $2,000 via a "'telephonic call,' including, but not limited to, a call made by an individual, an automated telephone call and a recorded message."
