GLASTONBURY, CT — Glastonbury officials have been advised by the Connecticut Department of Transportation that the anticipated opening date for the Putnam Bridge Trail has been moved to April 15, 2024 in order to allow the remaining improvements to the Putnam Bridge to be completed.

Remaining work on the bridge includes improvements to the pedestrian bridge deck and protective fencing, officials said. Paving was recently completed, but the trail is still an active construction zone and the public is being advised to not attempt to access the trail until the announced date, officials said.

The initial target date for completion was this fall.
