Spring is Coming! Emmy Lou's Gift Shop Once Again Open Sundays
The eclectic shop in Glastonbury's town center is decorated for Easter and open from 12-4 on Sundays.
It's springtime in Glastonbury--or soon will be--with the weather brightening, the early buds beginning to come out, and a local gift shop opening their doors and ramping up for Easter.
Emmy Lou's Gift Shop is once again open on Sundays from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. after months of six-day weeks. While some stores change their hours based solely on the season, Emmy Lou's Sunday hours are decided in part by the desires of its customers.

"She knows her customers," employee Pam Ruschmeyer said of owner Emmy Lou DeBari.
Emmy Lou's shop opens on Sundays in the fall after school lets back in and stays open through the holidays, closes for the winter doldrums, and then re-opens for Sundays when the weather warms up until the start of summer.

"It's a happy phenomenon in Glastonbury that many families head out of town" in the summer months, Ruschmeyer said.
The staff at Emmy Lou's has worked hard to change the displays and merchandise by hand to better reflect the spring seasons. And the change to spring couldn't come to soon, according to Ruschmeyer.
"No matter when we would think about spring, people are thrilled," she said.
The new Sunday hours begin this week, though the store will be closed on Easter Sunday, March 31.
