Stolen Plants + Stolen Car = 4 Arrests In Glastonbury
A plate reader nabbed a stolen car in Glastonbury that was also involved in a shoplifting, police said.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A stolen car and pilfered potted plants added up to four arrests in Glastonbury last week.
Local police recently released details of the July 9 case.
Glastonbury cops were alerted to a stolen vehicle by a plate reader on New London Turnpike shortly after 8 p.m., according to arrest reports. In the vehicle were potted plants and potting soil recently shoplifted from the local Home Depot.

Rather than heading to the garden, the vehicle's occupants were taken to the lockup, police said.
For the stolen car, Marcello Luciano, 42, of Hartford, was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, and second-degree criminal trover, interfering with police and driving while under suspension. The bond in the case was set at $50,000.

Two companions were arrested for the shoplifting. Jeffrey Evans, 49, of West Hartford, was charged with sixth-degree larceny and a related conspiracy, according to an arrest report. He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and was booked on four failure to appear warrants that carried bonds totaling $160,000, according to an arrest report. Nicole Davila, 30, of Hartford, was charged with sixth-degree larceny and a related conspiracy, according to an arrest report.
Also in the mix was 45-year-old Waterbury resident Amanda Barriera, who was arrested on two warrants for violating probation, according to an arrest report.
