Teen Driver Facing Manslaughter Charge In Connection With Fatal Crash In Glastonbury
A teen driver is facing several serious charges in connection with a car crash that turned fatal in Glastonbury.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A teen driver is facing serious charges in connection with a car crash that turned fatal in Glastonbury last fall.
The case dates back to Oct. 24, when at 8:53 p.m., Glastonbury police, fire, and EMS personnel responded to the area of 3066 Hebron Avenue for a reported three-vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, first responders rendered immediate medical aid to all occupants involved, and the Glastonbury Fire Department personnel extricated two people who sustained serious injuries, according to an incident report.

All involved were transported to area hospitals, police said. On Nov. 5, a 15-year-old passenger in one of the cars succumbed to his injuries, according to an incident report.
The crash was investigated by members of the Glastonbury Police Traffic Unit with the Metro Traffic Services Regional Accident Reconstruction Team. The investigation determined that a 17-year-old male was operating a 2004 Nissan westbound on Hebron Avenue at a high rate of speed with a 15-year-old passenger, according to an incident report. The driver lost control of the vehicle, crossed into the eastbound lane, and struck two oncoming vehicles, according to an incident report.

As a result of the investigation, Glastonbury police obtained an arrest warrant approved by the Judicial District of Hartford charging the 17-year-old driver with:
- Second-degree manslaughter
- First-degree assault
- One count of first-degree reckless endangerment
- Three counts of second-degree reckless endangerment
- Two counts of third-degree criminal mischief
- Reckless driving
- Operating a motor vehicle to endanger an occupant (three counts)
- Violation of Passenger Restrictions
- Failure to Drive Right
The driver surrendered on Monday and was to appear in Hartford Juvenile Court later in the day.
