With the weather expected to get very warm over the next few days, the Riverfront Community Center located at 300 Welles Street will be serving as a cooling center for those seeking a break from the heat.  The RCC will be open Monday, August 23rd through Thursday, August 26th from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and water will be made available, as well.

If you plan to escape the heat at the RCC, please bring a sweater or layers of clothing as it may actually be too cold after extended periods of time in the A/C.  (Seriously!)

Please share these cooling center resources with anyone you know who may need them, particularly senior residents, folks with children, and people with health conditions that are worsened by high temperatures.
