As a reminder, in accordance with Executive Order 13A issued by Governor Lamont on August 5, 2021, Town Manager Richard J. Johnson, has issued a Declaration of Continuing Public Health Emergency – Executive Order requiring that any person in an indoor public place in the Town of Glastonbury shall wear a mask or face covering regardless of vaccination status or social distancing. The Declaration shall remain in effect until further notice. The mandate shall not apply to any residential dwelling and includes the following exceptions to the mask/face covering requirement:
- Persons with a medical condition, behavioral condition, or disability that prevents them from wearing a mask, or anyone under the age of two years; and
- Persons eating and drinking
The Connecticut Department of Public Health (CT DPH) reports weekly on the number of new cases in a community per 100,000 population. The “zones” reported by CT DPH include gray (less than 5), yellow (5-9), orange (10-14), and red (15+) new cases per week. Designation as a “red” town with 15 or more new cases for two consecutive weeks indicates a heightened public health risk, which drove the decision to issue the Declaration of Continuing Public Health Emergency.
Data reported by CT DPH will be reviewed on a weekly basis. Should changes in new cases in Glastonbury move to the orange or yellow zone for two consecutive reporting periods, it is expected the Declaration will be modified or rescinded.
