According to the state’s color-coded map, Glastonbury is currently in the Red zone with 44.1 COVID-19 cases per 100,000 population.* (Click here to see the state’s color-coded map in real-time). As noted in the Town’s weekly COVID update issued on December 14th, Glastonbury reported 128 new laboratory confirmed cases, with week-over-week cases increasing significantly since the end of November.

With the Omicron variant on the rise and the overall number of cases increasing locally and country-wide, Glastonbury is encouraging ALL residents to “mask up” in public places and when attending crowded outdoor gatherings. Glastonbury residents are urged to wear well-fitting face coverings regardless of vaccination status for the safety of themselves and others. These measures are particularly important in protecting the elderly and those with underlying health conditions, as these individuals can be more susceptible to severe or fatal illness related to COVID-19.

As a reminder, face coverings continue to be required at all Town buildings and facilities, and Glastonbury businesses are encouraged to implement similar mask requirements. The state of Connecticut offers a number of business resources on their website at business.ct.gov/recovery.

Glastonbury will continue to monitor the local case numbers and follow guidance set forth by the CDC and CT Department of Public Health and make modifications to current protocols as applicable. In the interim, the continued support and cooperation of Glastonbury community members is appreciated for the safety and health of all.
