Town Of Glastonbury: Refuse/Recycling Facility Closures This Saturday In Response To Impending Winter Storm Bobby

In anticipation of impending Winter Storm Bobby, residents should please be advised of the following changes to the Town’s refuse/recycling facility operating schedules:

Bulky Waste Facility (BWF) – The BWF will be CLOSED on Saturday, 1/29. The facility will resume standard operating hours next Monday, 1/31.

Transfer Station (TS) – The TS will CLOSE EARLY on Saturday, 1/29, and will be open from 7:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Please note, while the Town plans to keep the facility open until 11:00 AM, the facility may close sooner for the safety of staff and community members if dangerous road/blizzard conditions persist. Please plan accordingly and visit the Transfer Station in the early morning hours on Saturday, or delay visits to next week.

As of this writing, the Governor has issued a tractor trailer highway ban, which will go into effect on 6:00 AM Saturday, 1/29. Should the Governor decide to close the roads between now and Saturday morning, both the Bulky Waste Facility and Transfer Station will be closed. As such, please follow the Governor’s advisories and make note of potential schedule changes.

Both refuse/recycling facilities will resume their standard operating hours next week.
