Veteran Motorcycle Cop Retiring From The Force In Glastonbury

A GPD motorcycle officer and honor guard member is retiring.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Sgt. Jeffrey Hodder has announced his retirement from the Glastonbury Police Department after serving the town for nearly four decades.

His last official day is Feb 2.

Hodder has served in several different capacities at the department for 37 years, the past 21 of them as a sworn police officer.

"Sergeant Hodder has been a huge asset to our agency," police officials said in posting his retirement.

In his law enforcement career, Hodder has had a "dedicated focus" on traffic enforcement and drunken driving detection, officials said.

Hodder also played an integral role in the GPD's motorcycle unit and served in the department's honor guard.

Hodder will continue to serve in law enforcement with another agency, officials said. He wore badge 360 in Glastonbury.
