Violating Mask Mandate May Lead To Fine + Church Wants to Expand
Here is an update on several local Glastonbury stories, including an affordable housing survey.

Good morning, Glastonbury! Let's get you all caught up to start this Thursday off on an informed note. Here's everything you need to know today in town.
First, today's weather: Heavy rain in the morning. High: 72 Low: 53. Please be careful if you need to drive as flooding is a major concern due to the heavy rain we've received.
Here are the top stories in Glastonbury today:
- Fines will be issued to those not complying with Glastonbury's indoor mask policy. A violation could cost you $100. There was a lengthy debate on the topic at a meeting held Tuesday night. (Read the full WFSB 3 TV story here)
- St. Paul Church at 2577 Main St. is seeking approval from the town Plan and Zoning Commission for a two-story addition with offices, classrooms, an assembly hall with kitchen, new bathroom facilities and new entry with elevator and parking modifications. The new addition would include 15,341-square-feet and would be located on the rear side of the church building. The application remains pending, and some members of the commission wanted more clarity on parking plans. (You can read full details of the plans and discussion by members here).
- Affordable Housing Survey Now Open to Glastonbury residents. The Town of Glastonbury is in the process of preparing an Affordable Housing Plan by June 2022 as required by State law. An Affordable Housing Steering Committee has been analyzing and evaluating current and anticipated future housing needs in Glastonbury and will be recommending policies and action steps to other Town boards and agencies.nCommunity input is an important part of the overall process of preparing the Affordable Housing Plan. As such, the Town's Affordable Housing Steering Committee is asking the public to complete a survey to help the Town of Glastonbury understand shared goals and shared concerns and plan for the future of the community. The survey will be open for the next four weeks, closing on Sunday, September 26th. To complete the survey, please visit here.
