Warrant Served In Glastonbury Animal Cruelty Investigation

GLASTONBURY, CT — An East Hartford resident is facing animal cruelty charges in Glastonbury.

Last week, Glastonbury Police arrested 36-year-old Marcus Smith on an active warrant. A police investigation determined that two dogs were left in an apartment unattended for several days, according to a warrant.

Smith has been charged with two county of animal cruelty and two counts of failure to comply with dog ownership requirements.

Smith posted a $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on June 14, police said.

Glastonbury police said the dogs are "well" and currently in the care of the Glastonbury Animal Shelter.
