Glastonbury Company Launching Green K-Cup Alternative Tomorrow
Glastonbury coffee company to launch recyclable alternative to single-serving K-Cups at Whole Foods tomorrow.

Do you feel a little pang of guilt every time you use your single-serving coffee maker? How would you like to have the convenience of a quick cup of coffee at home without the waste?
Glastonbury’s own Brioni’s Coffee may be able to help. On November 1, 2012, Brioni’s is launching its version of a recyclable K-Cup.

Made of compostable materials, Brioni’s single-serving Green Cups coffee pods, and its recyclable adapter for use with Keurig coffeemakers, will be sold in Whole Foods stores. Whole Foods doesn’t sell Keurig’s K-Cups because they don’t meet the company’s environmental standards.
Approximately 5 million households now have single-serving coffeemakers, estimates Barbara Thomas, a spokesperson for Brioni’s. If you’re one and you’ve been tasting the pungent tang of guilt with each disposable cup, here’s your chance to start cutting back on the billions of little nonrecyclable pods that are piling up in landfills.
