Bernadette Marie Rocha,43

She was just 43 when she passed away...

 Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed and very dear.

 Bernadette Marie Bernadette Marie (Shattuck) Rocha, 43 of Rocky Hill, formerly of East Granby, loving wife of John Ferreira Da Rocha, Sr. for 19 years, passed away Thursday (June 6, 2013) at Hartford Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in Derby Line, Vermont and is the daughter of Charles A. and Lea L. (Gagnon) Shattuck. She was a graduate of Hartford College for Women. Bernadette and her husband, John owned and operated Elizabeth's Restaurant in Tariffville for over 10 years. She also resided in Nova Modica, Minas Gerais, Brazil where she enjoyed their farm and horses as well as a loving community. She was actively involved in the East Granby school system and enjoyed volunteering. Bernadette was a kind, loving and devoted wife and mother. She will be sadly missed. Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by her twins, John Ferreira Da Rocha, Jr. and Luanna Marie Ferreira Da Rocha; seven brothers; five sisters; two brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law; as well as many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. James Church, 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. The burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Manchester. Calling hours are Sunday from 2-5 p.m. the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Donations in Bernadette's memory may be made to the Rocha children's educational fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
