July 16 at 4:30 p.m. Cancer and Genetic Awareness
Sara (Rhode) Carroll, M.S., C.G.C., Cancer Genetic Counselor for Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center and Hartford Hospital will discuss the features of hereditary cancers along with the indications for who may be appropriate to consider genetic counseling and testing for hereditary cancers. She will highlight information regarding the process of BRCA testing (for breast cancer) as well as the general risks of cancer and the potential medical management options for those with hereditary cancer.
