D.O.G.G.S. Daze Fundraiser Coming Up
Dog park group looking for volunteers, business sponsors.

You may have gotten the chance to run on the beach and take a swim this summer but your dog may not have. Well, Fido will soon get his turn because volunteers with Granby’s dog park are hosting the 9th Annual D.O.G.G.S. Daze of August event to support the park.
According to a release on the organization’s website, the event will take place Aug. 25 from noon to 4:30 p.m. at Salmon Brook Park. Activities at the event will include off-leash swims and off-leash play at the park (both for a donation), a tea cup auction, 50/50 raffle and canine demonstration. Admission and parking are free.
Organizers are currently looking for vendors who would like to have a booth at the event, a Hartford Courant post says. For a $50 donation, business owners can reserve a tent onsite and free advertising all year on the dog park’s website.

The money goes to support the dog park’s operating costs – about $4,500, including dog waste bags and playground-grade mulch.
Volunteers over 16 years old are also needed to help with the event as well as to help out on that Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
