Fern's Music for Kids, Jen Hosack and Farm Fresh Goodies at East Granby Farmers Market
This week's Market will have twice as much entertainment! Guitarist Jen Hosack, who has played at the market several times last year, will be with us for the the afternoon. In addition, Fern Michonski, of Fern's Music for Kids (www.fernsmusicforkids.com) will perform her special high-energy blend of music and fun from 3:30 to 4:30. Fern will remain at the Market until 6:00 to chat with us about her award-winning children's programs.
We noticed in the past week that the variety of offerings by our vendors is getting more and more exciting as the growing season progresses. Now's a great chance to try out some new veggies - if you don't know how to prepare them, just ask! Our vendors love talking about what they sell. Last week we had regular and golden beets, patty pan squash (Oxen Hill Farm sold out of them as soon as they put them out, but I'm sure they'll bring more), fresh garlic (so much better than dried), garlic scapes, early tomatoes, cucumbers, lots of greens, onions, etc. No doubt fresh Connecticut grown corn will be on its way soon - maybe even this week!
Our regular vendors will be there this week: Sweet Wind Farm, Sweet Pea Farm, Raw Food Central, Oxen Hill Farm, Newgate Farm, Lost Acres Orchard, Hemlock Knoll, Hastings Farm, George Hall Farm, and Chet's Italian Ice. In addition, Beading Adventures, Salsa Loca and Woof N Wheels will be with us.
