We had a great day Tuesday at the Granby Farmers’ Market. The weather cooperated this week and all our local heroes were able to come and spend the afternoon with us. A big thank you to all who participated, the kids all had a great time! We also had great music performed by local band I Am Clay.
This Tuesday, July 9th, at the Granby Farmers’ Market the focus will be on health and wellness. We will have activities and demonstrations of different methods that can help develop your mind body and spirit to their fullest potential. Sustainable Health and Wellness Center for Vital Living will be there to discuss the benefits that acupuncture and other naturopathic methods can have to your health. If you have never tried acupuncture you will have the opportunity to experience it for yourself at the market! Measuring blood pressure is a simple and quick way to gauge your health, Farmington Valley VNA will be performing blood pressure screenings for market patrons. Back in Touch Wellness Center will be with us to demonstrate the healing power of massage. Gary Bickett, YMCA’s Wellness Director, will give a Tai Chi demonstration. Tai Chi is known to improve balance, enhance strength and flexibility, reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and ease chronic pain.
As always, our vendors will be promoting health by providing fresh, wholesome, delicious foods for you to enjoy. Local chef Mike Webster will be returning with another fabulous cooking demo, if you missed his last demo you can find his recipes posted on our website www.granbyfarmersmarket.com. Our entertainment for the day will be Bill Benson. A returning favorite from last season, Bill will be playing some of his own original songs along with some of your country, folk, and acoustic rock favorites. Bill is a semi finalist in the NW Idol Competition this year and has a new CD that will be released by the end of the year.
