The Granbys' Martin Luther King Holiday Weekend Forecast

There's a very good chance we'll see some snowflakes and raindrops this weekend.

For some of us, it’s a three-day holiday weekend, and the question always is, what will the weather be like.

The National Weather Service forecast for the next four days beginning with Friday shows some good and bad news, which is obviously expected in January in New England.

Friday is probably the best weather day of the next four. It will be most sunny with high temperatures between 32-38 degrees, and the wind chill factor will make it feel like between 10-20 degrees.

Friday night will be absolutely freezing with temperatures in the single digits to about 11 degrees.

The good news is, it will be sunny on Saturday, but the high temperature will be 20-25 degrees, and the windchill factor will make it feel like zero degrees.

Saturday night will be seasonal with temperatures ranging between 18-24 degrees.

Sunday is where things get somewhat interesting. Between 9 a.m. and noon, there is a chance for a rain and snow mix, mostly rain, and after 12 p.m. the temperatures rise, and it will be plain rain, and a lot of it.

Temperatures will rise into the 40s and there can be a half-inch of rain.

Sunday night rain is expected before 3 a.m. and then snow may mix in. No real accumulation is expected as of now.

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day Monday, snow showers are expected for periods of the day with temperatures in the mid 30s.

Monday night will be a return to cold temps, with low readings around 15 degrees.

Have a great and safe holiday weekend!
