What's one thing that can make a CBH brew a whole lot more enjoyable ? Knowing that .50 from each beer you purchase gets donated to our wounded soldiers who are selflessly fighting for our country!
That's right folks! Right now CBH Brew Pub has joined together with the Connecticut Beer Trail in raising money for the members of our troops who are at war. You get to help the lives of the local men and women whoprotect ours daily, that's pretty great.
Beer lover? You're in luck! We have a brand new Saison brewing at CBH ready to excite some taste buds, as well as a variety of other house brews, top notch guest taps, and you can't forget our flagship fan favorites: House IPA and Kolsch!
Like beer but these styles are foreign territory ? Wanna try something new? Ill break down a little beer knowledge for you so you don't go into all the beer slang blind!
As for the Saison:
Saison means "season" in French, and is also known as a "farmhouse ale" which makes perfect sense because Saisons were typically made during the colder seasons, and ready for launch in the hotter months for the farm workers to indulge in. We call ours the "Farmer's Daughter."
Saisons range in flavors and aromas. Some tend to be fruity and sweet, while others are mildly sweet and tart, and some even have a bitter or spicy bite to them. There are various tastes, but a refreshing, summertime beer for sure. Be sure to try our "Farmer's Daughter," it has a light body and a nice dry finish. Whether you love Saisons or are just branching out and trying something new be sure to stop into the Cambridge house brew Pub soon!
And for our beer newbies, if you are stopping in to try something you've never had before, be sure to try our IPA and Kolsch. (Need a quick cheat sheet?)
IPA- "India Pale Ale" - Dominant hop flavor ( a hop is a female flower from the hop plant Humulus Lupulus which produces a bitter and tangy flavor) [aka: when trying new beers the more bitter a beer is typically the hoppier a beer is, especially in IPA - for some a taste for IPA is acquired]
Also, IPAs have a higher average ABV (alcohol by volume) than most, so get ready!
CBH IPA: Notes of citrus, tropical accents, and a hit of hoppiness
ABV: 6.7%
Kolsch - A very special light German ale with a mildly hoppy taste.
CBH Kolsch: ABV 5.0%
So grab your family and friends and head on down to the Cambridge House Brew Pub and try some brews. Feeling hungry? Don't worry we have delicious burgers, wings, salads and more to accompany your beers.
You get to enjoy your summer day while helping others at the same time, nothing beats that!
