Register your child for our Summer Academy!

Anyone driving up Simsbury Road (Route 185) from West
Hartford towards Simsbury passes the 4-H Education Center at Auerfarm.  In spite of the big new sign, many people
have never driven up Auerfarm’s long driveway.
The 4-H Education Center is set on 120 acres of historic Auerfarm. Yellow
school buses roll up the driveway every day, bringing school children for
hands-on science that is linked to farming, animals, gardens and nature.

Auerfarm’s Summer Farm Academy opens on June
17, 2013.  There will be eight one week
sessions for students PK-8th Grade. The final week is August 12-16,
2013.  Weekly themes include Farmers
in Training, Wild!, Garden Harvest, Farm Friends, Nature Quest, Farm Animals,
and Celebrate Summer.
In addition to thematic activities, each session
includes a hayride, visits to the animal barn, ice cream making and lots of
fresh air and outdoor exercise. Auerfarm’s expert teachers work with small
groups, with no more than 10 students per teacher.

Fees are $150 a week for Pre-Kindergarten groups meeting
from 9:00-12:00 daily.  Older students
are on the farm from 9:00-3:00, at $250 per week. Snacks are provided; students
in full day programs must bring their own lunches.
