The case is the latest where people have passed fake money in Greenwich; last month counterfeit bills were passed at one of the Greenwich Post Offices, but a suspect has not yet been arrested in connection with that incident.
In May, the department even issued a warning for local businesses to be on the lookout for such crimes.
