2 Car Thefts Reported In Greenwich: PD
Greenwich Police remind residents to lock their cars and take their keys with them when they park.

GREENWICH, CT — Police are reminding residents to make sure their vehicles are locked after two cars were stolen over the past week in Greenwich. According to Lieutenant John Slusarz, the first vehicle stolen was a 2018 Audi A5, which was taken from a driveway on Old Church Road sometime overnight between July 7 and 8.
The vehicle was unlocked and a set of keys were in it, Slusarz said. The vehicle was recovered later in the day on Monday in another town.
On Tuesday, a 2015 Porsche Macan was taken from the Island Beach Municipal Parking Lot sometime between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., Slusarz said. In that instance, the vehicle was unlocked and the owners were unsure where the second set of keys were.

"The takeaway is that people should remember to lock their cars and take the keys with them when they park," Slusarz said in an email to Patch. "Unlocked cars with the keys or fobs in them are just as likely to be stolen from a private driveway as a public parking lot."
