Greenwich School Board Appoints 2 Members To Fill Vacancies (patch.com) — Greenwich residents have two new Republican representatives on the Board of Education, as Jeffrey Csoka and Jonathan Katz were unanimously appointed to fill recent vacancies through November 2027. Both have children in Greenwich Public Schools and bring professional experience in large-scale projects and law, and they'll be sworn in before the first meeting of the school year.
   

2. Super Bowl Champion Quarterback Spotted In Greenwich (patch.com) — Football fans in Greenwich may have brushed shoulders with a Super Bowl–winning quarterback, as retired NFL star Russell Wilson recently dropped by Glenville Pizza and Logos Greenwich for slices and custom apparel. Local owners say he's become a familiar, gracious customer while promoting gear tied to his 3BRAND Racing horse stable, whose horse Club Reign just debuted with a win.
   

3. Turner Celebrates Completion of New Central Middle School in Greenwich (turnerconstruction.com) — A brand-new Central Middle School has opened in Greenwich, bringing a 135,000‑square‑foot, energy‑efficient building online for local students. The $112 million project, managed by Turner, was developed with Greenwich Public Schools and the town to create a modern, sustainable learning environment designed to serve teachers and families for generations.
   

4. Greenwich Affordable Housing Trust Fund Acknowledges Generous Gift from the Danish American Club (greenwichfreepress.com) — Greenwich's Affordable Housing Trust Fund has received a record $70,000 donation from the Danish American Club to support new and preserved affordable homes in town. The gift will help expand rental and ownership options for low‑ and moderate‑income households, building on existing commitments to more than 130 affordable units across several local developments.
   

5. Man Sold Illegal Kratom Products From Vehicle In Greenwich, Police Say (patch.com) — Greenwich police say a New York man was arrested after allegedly selling more than $20,000 in illegal kratom products from his vehicle to people in town. Officers describe kratom as a Schedule I controlled substance in Connecticut and warn that products containing 7-Hydroxy can have powerful opioid-like effects, urging parents and guardians to talk with young people about the risks.
