3 Cars Stolen, 14 Entered By 'Lazy' Criminals In Greenwich: PD
Anyone with information or who has seen suspicious activity in any of these areas at night is asked to contact Greenwich Police.

GREENWICH, CT — Three cars were stolen and 14 were entered between Aug. 26 and Sept. 4 in various areas of Greenwich, according to police. A 2005 Ford Explorer was stolen Monday night on Steamboat Road, according to Lt. John Slusarz. The vehicle was unlocked and the keys were inside.
On Aug. 30, a 2017 Ford was stolen from a driveway on Lawrence Street. Slusarz said the vehicle was unlocked and the keys were in the ignition.
The following day, a MINI Cooper was taken from a driveway on Milbank Avenue, which police learned about after the vehicle was found wrecked on Interstate 95 in Norwalk by state police, Slusarz said. The vehicle was also unlocked.

Of the 14 vehicles that were entered, each one was unlocked and found to have been rummaged through, Slusarz said. Miscellaneous items were stolen in these incidents, including a laptop computer, video games and loose change.

"The people responsible for these crimes are generally lazy and enter unlocked cars," Slusarz said in a statement. "Despite this, it would be reasonable to believe they may break a window on a locked car to get a valuable that is left in plain sight. The best way to discourage this behavior is to lock your car, take your keys and not to leave valuables where they can be seen."
