3 Charged In Return Fraud Scheme: Greenwich Police
Greenwich plainclothes officers on Wednesday noticed "suspicious activity" within a retail store, police said.

GREENWICH, CT — Three people were charged Wednesday in connection with a return fraud scheme that cost a Greenwich business nearly $2,000, according to police.
Tanisha Bynoe, 36, and Trumane Gibbs, 31, both of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Ajla Kazaferovic, 26, of Utica, N.Y., face larceny and criminal impersonation charges, their arrest reports show.
On Sept. 25 at 4:44 p.m., Greenwich plainclothes officers noticed "suspicious activity" within a retail store on Greenwich Avenue, police said in an arrest report. An exact location was not given.

Officers conducted in-person surveillance and "observed behavior that was consistent with return fraud," police said.
Bynoe, Gibbs and Kazaferovic are accused of returning several stolen items to the retail store, totaling a financial loss of over $1,800, police said.

Bynoe posted a $50,000 bond and was released, according to her arrest report. Gibbs and Kazaferovic were unable to post bonds of $50,000 and $100,000 respectively.
The arrestees are scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Oct. 9.
