Alfred Hess, 86; Architectural Wood Worker
Calling hours for the long-time Greenwich resident will be held Thursday, July 31, with the funeral service scheduled for Friday, Aug. 1.

Alfred Hess, 86, loving and devoted husband to Rita Hess, passed away on Saturday July 26, 2014.
Born in Formmern, Germany April18th 1928, son of Marie and Andreas Hess was the youngest of four.

Hess came to the US in 1954 and worked for Froelich Cabinet Works as a Architectural Wood Worker for 33 years. A Greenwich resident since 1966, he was a member of the German American Singing Society and White Plains Ski Club for 54 years. He was a long-time avid skier at Mad River Glenn in Waitsfield, VT. He was loved by all who met him and will be missed.
He is survived by his wife, his son George Hess and grandchildren Daniel, Vanessa and Dakota.

Arrangements are being made by Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich,
where the family will receive friends on Thursday, July 31, from 4 to 8 p.m. There will be a short service Friday at 10 a.m. followed by the burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Greenwich.
