Attorney General Jepsen Endorses Candidate In Gubernatorial Race

The two made the announcement in Hartford on Monday.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich businessman and gubernatorial candidate Ned Lamont has secured the endorsement of Connecticut Attorney General George Jepsen, Lamont announced Monday.

The two have known each other for years, and Jepsen endorsed Lamont in 2006 when Lamont ran against then Sen. Joe Lieberman, writes the Connecticut Mirror.

Jepsen calls Lamont a man of integrity, who has "a real understanding of the policy issues facing our state."

2018 marks the second time Lamont is seeking the governor's office, having lost the Democratic nomination to Dannel Malloy in 2010.
