Breast Cancer Alliance And Greenwich Merchants Host 'GoForPink' Event On Oct. 5
More than 60 businesses are slated to participate.

From BCA: On Thursday, October 5th, Breast Cancer Alliance (BCA) will once again host its GoForPink community event in the Town of Greenwich at which time BCA proudly partners with more than 60 businesses to raise awareness and critical funds toward eradicating breast cancer.
GoForPink has become a special day of shopping, dining and educational events dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Participating merchants will display window signs, offer special discounts and refreshments, and will generously donate a percentage of their proceeds, with some extending benefits throughout the month. Many will also be donating items to BCA’s Annual Luncheon Auction on October 26th when the community unites again to support BCA’s platform.
Loren Taufield, Chair, GoForPink said, “We are so grateful for the overwhelming and passionate support from the community and the large number of merchants who enthusiastically participate in GoForPink. Enhancing this year’s special day of support will be expanded dining opportunities with some establishments graciously extending promotions throughout the month.” Taufield added “It is a great day to spend with friends and family to shop, dine and support our generous local merchants partnering with BCA as we rally together towards the goal of a cure.”

“Since its founding in 1996, Breast Cancer Alliance has significantly contributed to the successful treatment of and quality of life for breast cancer patients,” said BCA President Mary Jeffery. “While survival rates are at an all-time high, 30% of those diagnosed with breast cancer still face metastatic disease. BCA will not rest until that number is zero. We will continue to seek out and fund brilliant medical school surgeons who seek to both understand the challenges and nuances of breast cancer as well as develop effective, innovative treatments. BCA invests millions of dollars in these fellowships, confident that these bright minds deepen our understanding of this complex disease, bringing us closer to a cure."
