Children’s Author/Illustrator Lizzy Rockwell Visits ISD

Lizzy Rockwell shares details about writing and illustrating children's picture books with ISD students.

Lizzy Rockwell, award-winning author and illustrator of over 25 children’s books including Plants Feed Me, Good Enough to Eat: A Kid's Guide to Food and Nutrition, Hello Baby! and The Busy Body Book: A Kid's Guide to Fitness, visited the International School at Dundee this week. Rockwell spoke with students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade about the creative, technical and research processes involved in creating a picture book – from rough drafts of manuscripts and thumbnail sketches to the book dummy and final published works. She also read to students and finished by making an original drawing on an easel.
