Connecticut Weather: Memorial Day Weekend Forecast Takes A Turn For The Worse

Hopes for a beautiful holiday weekend forecast don't seem to be materializing. Here's the latest on what to expect.

Earlier this week the forecast for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend appeared to be pretty good with plenty of sun and temps in the 70s. But things change quickly with the weather, and now it appears we’ll see a lot more clouds and even some rain on both Sunday and Memorial Day.

If you’re planning an outdoor barbecue in Connecticut this holiday weekend, your best bet appears to be Saturday, which will feature sunshine and pleasant temps. But then things change for the worse on Sunday. Memorial Day doesn’t appear to be a washout, but it will be mostly overcast with a chance of some showers. NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan wrote, “No change to the Memorial Day weekend forecast. Not a washout but there will be some periods of rain to avoid - the best chance of rain is Sunday afternoon through Sunday night. Saturday: Partly cloudy and seasonable - highs in the 70s. Sunday: Mostly cloudy with a rising chance for showers by afternoon and evening. High near 70. Monday: Clouds and some sun with a few showers. High near 70.”
