3. Breast Cancer Alliance: Beyond The Cure (thepuristonline.com) — A Greenwich‑born nonprofit, Breast Cancer Alliance, has grown from a local kitchen‑table idea into a national force that's granted over $40 million for research, surgical training, and low‑ or no‑cost screenings. As it marks its 30th anniversary, the group is preparing a major luncheon and fashion show on October 22 while continuing to fund mobile mammography, oncology fellowships, and early‑stage research that can change breast cancer care.
   

4. GCDS Student Completes SoundWaters Research Intensive (greenwichfreepress.com) — A Greenwich Country Day School student, Grayson Eisenberg, spent the summer doing hands-on marine science research on Stamford Harbor and Long Island Sound through the SoundWaters Research Intensive. Working with peers from around the region, Eisenberg studied local marine ecosystems, collected and analyzed field data, and presented findings, gaining skills SoundWaters says are vital for future environmental leaders.
