Convicted Child Sex Offender, Ex-Greenwich Swim Coach Back In Custody: Report
A man who was found guilty of trying to molest a swim student in 2014 was taken back into custody this week, CT Insider said.
GREENWICH, CT — Andrew Knapp, a former swim coach at the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich who was found guilty of trying to molest one of his students in 2014, was taken back into custody on Wednesday, according to CT Insider.
CT Insider reported that Knapp, 41, was unable to comply with the conditions of his release, and he has had various probation violations in the past. Knapp's attorney, Benjamin Aponte, said his client has also had difficulty maintaining his sobriety, CT Insider added.
Knapp was arrested in 2010 and convicted in 2014. He received a 10-year prison sentence suspended after seven years, followed by five years probation.

As part of his release, Knapp was ordered to register as a sex offender and have no contact with minors under the age of 16, or work in a capacity that put him in contact with minors. He was also ordered to undergo substance abuse and mental health treatment.
Knapp was charged with violation of probation in March, CT Insider said. The violation partly stemmed from attending a gym after school hours. He also missed treatment appointments, tested positive for drugs and broke his curfew, CT Insider said.
