GREENWICH, CT — The 2022 election is heating up in Connecticut and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office. Eyes are primarily focused on the gubernatorial election, but every state representative and senate seat is up for grabs. All five of Connecticut's congressional seats, plus one U.S. Senate seat, are up for grabs as well.
There are 151 seats in the state House of Representatives and 36 in the state Senate. Democrats currently hold majorities in both chambers.
Connecticut Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near.

Previous public office, appointive or elective
I have served on my local Democratic Town Committee.
Why are you seeking this office?
I care about helping people, and I am concerned about women's reproductive healthcare. I am passionate about protecting our environment, supporting our schools, keeping taxes low, and gun safety.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ___, and this is what I intend to do about it.
One of my constituents' most pressing issues is protecting women's reproductive healthcare. I plan to introduce a State constitutional amendment to protect a woman's access to reproductive healthcare.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
Looking at my opponent's voting record, it is evident he does not respect our district's values. He voted against funding to support our environment and against additional charging stations for electric vehicles. He does not support women in our state and voted against expanding access to childcare and protecting pregnant women in the workforce. For these and many other reasons, Ryan has shown he is an extremist working for his own political agenda and not supporting the hard-working families in Greenwich, Stamford, and New Canaan.
If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?
He has failed our schools by not supporting critical funding for mental health support and voted against funding for infrastructure improvements for Westhill High School.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
As a mental health professional, I will address the need for additional mental health services in our state.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I have an MBA from Harvard and worked on Wall Street for many years. After raising my children, I went back to school and received a master's in Marriage and Family therapy. This experience gives me a unique skill set to deliver in Harford and for hardworking families in my district.
