Deacon Paul Tupper, 83; Served St. Mary Church; Retired Army Major

Deacon Paul E. Tupper died peacefully at home on Sept. 23, 2013. He was 83.
Paul was born on March 19, 1930 in Ludlow, MA, the son of Paul Erwin and Evanore Beebe Tupper.
A retired Major in the U.S. Army, Paul served in the Korean War. He received his bachelor degree in finance from Columbia University and spent his entire career in financial management.
Paul was an ordained Deacon in the Diocese of Bridgeport and served for 27 years at St. Clement Church in Stamford and St. Mary Church in Greenwich.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Aurora, and four children: Mark (Susan) Tupper, Christine (John) Dunster, Kathleen (Carl) Prutting and Paul (Jean) Tupper. He was the best "grandpop" to Jacquelyn, Mary Kate and Tessa Dunster; Alexandra, Robert and Ryan Tupper; John, Cally, Jake and Genna Prutting and Paul Tupper.
He is predeceased by his firstborn son, Paul Eugene.
Paul lived his life with quiet dignity and understated grace. He will be remembered for his love of others, faith, courage, humility and quick wit.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, Sept. 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch St. in Greenwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27 at St. Mary Church in Greenwich.
