Death Threat Leads to Greenwich Man's Arrest

The suspect already was on probation for his conviction of violating a protective order.

A Greenwich man was held overnight on $50,000 bond following a domestic incident in which he is accused of threatening the life of a family member.

The incident on Josephine Evaristo Avenue was reported at 3:24 p.m. Tuesday, according to a Greenwich Police report.

“It was a domestic violence situation and the suspect was on probation for another domestic violence case at the time the threat was made against another person,” said Greenwich Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray. Police did not release further details.

Justin T. Gasso, 35, of 77 Josephine Evaristo Ave., was arrested on disorderly conduct and threatening charges. Bond was set at $50,000 and Gasso was scheduled to appear Wednesday in state Superior Court in Stamford.

According to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website, Gasso has been convicted several times on charges of ranging from breach of peace, threatening, violation of probation to violation of a protective order and interfering with police since 2007. He currently is serving three years probation on a December 2014 conviction for violation of a protective order, according to the Judicial Branch.
