Court Decides Fate Of Greenwich BOE Candidate Peter Bernstein's Injunction Case
Bernstein filed the injunction last week against fellow Republicans Jason Auerbach, Peter Sherr and Randall Smith.

GREENWICH, CT — Peter Bernstein on Thursday was denied an injunction against fellow Greenwich Republican Board of Education candidates Jason Auerbach, Peter Sherr and Randall Smith, reports the Greenwich Free Press.
Bernstein filed the injunction last week claiming that the three impeded his attempts to obtain signatures on a petition to be added to the fall election ballot. The trio's actions were called "obnoxious" but were not enough to warrant the injunction, according to the court.
An incumbent Board of Education member, who was not endorsed to by Republicans to seek re-election, Bernstein also sought to get extra time to turn in the 637 signatures he needed, instead of by Aug. 9.

In spite of the court rejection, Bernstein still turned in his petition, and the Greenwich Town Clerk's office is determining whether the signatures are valid, a process that could stretch on for several days. If he obtained enough signatures, he will face off against Auerbach and Sherr for one of two Republican seats.
