
A 4.1 magnitude earthquake rattled the East Coast Thursday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The earthquake occurred near Dover, Del. at 4:47 p.m.
The quake could be felt as far north as upstate New York. NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan said there was "some shaking in Connecticut. Did you feel it?"
On Hanrahan's Facebook page, several Connecticut residents said they felt the rumble. Kimberly Dalton wrote, "Yes in West Haven. Third floor apartment! Christmas tree ornaments were moving!!

Jen Powers wrote, "Yes, in Newtown my storm windows rattled for a good 10 seconds or so."
You can view Hanrahan's Facebook page for more comments from residents. On social media residents from Wilton, Naugatuck, Oxford, Clinton and Manchester reported feeling shaking.

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Fred Campagna said, "Seismograms in Westport and NewHaven picking up the 4.1 magnitude Earthquake that was centered near Dover, DE."
