Lyon family descendant Julie Pollock will discuss “The Lyon Family: From Farm to Market” on Sunday, March 4, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, Connecticut. Pollock will share the history of the Greenwich family who occupied the Thomas Lyon House from the 17th to the 20th centuries. Believed to be the oldest unaltered house in Greenwich, the Lyon House was built around 1695 and is the Greenwich Preservation Trust’s current restoration and preservation project. The house is also the focus of a new exhibition of photographs, paintings and artifacts from private collections showing the story of historic preservation in Greenwich. Organized by the Greenwich Preservation Trust and Bruce Museum, the exhibition entitled Greenwich Lost and Preserved opens at the Museum on March 3.
The lecture is open to the public and free with Museum admission. A reception will follow the lecture. Reservations are suggested; call the Museum at 203-869-0376.
