Foot Chase Ends With Arrest Of Bank Fraud Suspect: Greenwich Police
Police said the incident took place on the afternoon of Aug. 29.

GREENWICH, CT — A 39-year-old woman accused of trying to fraudulently open a checking account at a local bank was arrested on Aug. 29 after a brief foot chase on Greenwich Avenue, according to police.
Ebony Kennedy, of Manhattan, N.Y., was charged with criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny; third-degree identity theft; criminal impersonation; second-degree forgery; third-degree forgery; and interfering with police, her arrest report states.
On Aug. 29 shortly after 12 p.m., Greenwich plainclothes police officers were alerted to "suspicious activity" at a bank within the central Greenwich Business District, police said.

Greenwich police Lt. Ted Latiak said Kennedy attempted to flee from officers.
"Officers ultimately detained the subject after a very short foot chase and she swiped at the arresting officer’s arms and knocked the camera off his vest, but there were no injuries to either party," Latiak said. "No weapons were involved."

An investigation found that Kennedy showed a fake New York driver's license in someone else's name along with personal identifiable information in an attempt to open a fraudulent business checking account, police said.
Kennedy was able to post a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Sept. 13.
