Greenwich 2017 RTM Vote Results: New Members; von Keyserling Out
The Greenwich Representative Town Meeting will look a lot different this term.

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Representative Town Meeting - the 230-member town legislative assembly - will look significantly different in the upcoming session following a large turnover of members in Tuesday's election.
A total of 73 new members were elected from the RTM's 12 Districts Tuesday, nearly all of the 79 new members who ran, according to unofficial results from the Greenwich Registrar of Voters' Office and the Greenwich Time. (Click here see other results from the 2017 Greenwich election.)
That insurgency from new members appears to have partially come at the expense of one controversial long-time member, Christopher von Keyserling from District 8, who was among the members voted off the RTM. He is facing an assault charge following an alleged altercation with a female town employee earlier this year.

Indivisible Greenwich can take credit for some of the new energy on the RTM, as the group worked hard to recruit new candidates in the wake of the election of President Donald Trump.
And a scathing blog post by local realtor Christopher Fountain before the election, which essentially claimed that new members on the RTM - particularly women - could ruin the elected group, may have also helped to cement votes for the new members.
