Greenwich Bridge Scheduled To Close For Nearly 4 Months: DOT
Travelers are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in the vicinity and to look out for construction signs.

GREENWICH, CT — The Lake Avenue Bridge over the Merritt Parkway in Greenwich is scheduled to close Friday, June 21 due to a construction project, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation. The bridge will reopen by October 20, the DOT said.
According to the DOT, Lake Avenue traffic will utilize Lower Cross Road, North Street and Grahampton Lane to access each side of the closed bridge. Detour signs will be posted for guidance.
Drivers can also expect lane closures on the Parkway during the construction. Work hours for the project are:

- Monday-Friday: southbound between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m., northbound between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
- Saturday and Sunday: between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m., excluding statewide holiday lane closure restrictions
"The project consists of replacing all the structural steel members and the concrete bridge deck," DOT officials said in a press release. "The decorative panels and ornamental railing will be preserved by cleaning and painting offsite and returned to their original locations on the new structure. A two-tube rail system will replace the existing metal beam rail."
The project is scheduled for completion on Nov. 30.
